Hey I just talked to a person who has been inthe national guard for a while and he said physical requiremints when you sign up is that you have to be able to do 30 pushups, 35 situps, and run 2 miles in under 12:30 min. Is this info accurate or was he getting mixed up.
thanks alot

No. There is no minimum standard to join. You will have a standard that you must complete by the time basic is done. http://www.1800goguard.com/training/training_standards.html has the PT standards

Actually, there is a minimum standard to begin basic training, but it is fairly easy. The Pre-IADT APFT is 13 pushups in 1 minute, 17 situps, and 1 mile run in 8:30 for males. Females is 3 pushups in 1 minute, 17 situps, and 1 mile run in 10:30.

Sorry, meant to say reception. To everyone reading, you should prepare yourself better than the standard before heading to basic. It is just common sense.

Your minimum is standard across the board. For the APFT, you it depends on age.

When I was at reception (in Nov.) we had to take a diagnostic before shipping downrange to BCT.
