I am prior service, I just joined the guard on 08-03-06 in havent recieved my bonus I quilified for 15,000. can you tell me how long it takes to get my bonus ? I enlisted for 6 years. Will I get paid in one lump sum ? Who does the bonus processing?

You should get this bonus on 2 payments. Your initial payment should be paid soon after enlistment. However it depends how fast your paperwork is processed. It needs to go through a few sections before it goes to DFAS, then it will get directed deposited into your account. This could take a few weeks, be patient. Your 2nd payment will be payed on your 3rd year anniversary from your current enlistment. Now this is if you are MOS qualified. If you are not MOS qualified, you will not recieve your bonus until you get MOS qualified. Hope this answers you question.

I am moving from Wisconsin to Arizona in the spring. I am 11B qualified, and will be in the Scottsdale area. Are there 11B units around there? could I reclass into somthing else if I wanted to? will I have to pay back my Wisconsin Education Benefits and Sign on Bonus?

You have to wait until you are MOS qualified to reveice your bonus. Usually it is half after you qualify and the other half in 3 years at your half way mark. Your recruiter should have gone over this with you when you enlisted. congrats on joining and best of luck to you

First, a little background:
I'm prior service and just re-enlisted in the MN National Guard as a 96H, common ground station operator. I will be going to AZ for my AIT training in May.

I have a college degree, and would like to eventually to become a warrant officer working with radar or MI. I'm 38, 39 next month, and when my enlistment is up I should be an NCO (I'm a SPC now) so I may qualify for WOC school when I re-up at 44.

The thing is, it is very cold up here in Minnesota and my wife and I are thinking of moving to a sun state after my 6 years are up (I'm from Tx and she is from Ca).

Are there openings in AZ for warrant officers (assuming I get to go to WOC School) in AZ? Are there any MI units? I wouldn't mind going active guard if I could stay in my field.

Also, what about transfering in the Guard? If there is an opening in a unit in AZ, could I transfer down there if my civilian job sends me to Tempe or Tuscon or some place?

Om going to MEPS tommorow. and i heard that if your the only male in ur immediate family then you cannot be deployed to a war situation,unless you volunteer to go!! Is this true??? someone please help me!:eek:

Not true. You can still be deployed if you're the only male in your immediate family.

Not true. If you went in with a brother, you'd be in separate units, because of the Sullivan brothers.

I'm an only male, prior service Navy, and my recruiter told me he hoped I wasn't joining because of that rumor, because it was bogus.

my brother in law need to do the grap program but dosent know how can you give me some information on that so i can tell him. He is in the Illinois Army National Guard and he is recruiting me in. So he needs to know how to do it if you dont mind helping me.
