Tuition Assistance

I am PS and have just re-enlisted. My first time through I did not take advantage of any of the education benifits the Guard offers, this time I am going to make up for that!:D I have the GI Bill with the kicker, but I have heard that I might also qualify for tuition assistance, can anyone give me info on this?

I have contacted every number imaginable for information on education assistance and found the person that is able to answer all of my questions. Her name is Jessica and her number is 1-866-628-5999. When everyone else left me at a dead end, she found the information I needed. Hope this helps.

As a full-time student you'll receive $309/month (GI Bill) and $200/month (Kicker) for 36 months while attending school. The amounts get adjusted if you go to school at less than full time. If you're planning on taking full advantage of the education benefits this time around you need to get in contact with your state's Education Officer or NCO to find out about additional entitlements and benefits that are particular to your state. Your Readiness NCO can set up an appointment with the Education office for a benefits briefing.

The answer to your question, go to the following website www.virtualarmory.com the GI Bill Kicker is a good option but if you use your TA while you are in the guard you may never need to use it. I attend a distant learning university and TA picks up the whole bill.

Your recruiter can probably provide you with general information but if you want to go into details the best thing to do is to contact the Education office.
