I want to go into the Army National Guard, but I would like to go to college frist because the job I want requirements are two years of full-time active military service,or 60 college credits which i dont have at this time because the colleges want to much money and I dont have it.
Going into the National Guard would be cool but it's not considered full-time service and that wont help me none, thats why I want to go to college frist to get what I need befor I get depolyed any where. I would like to become Military Police(31B) and I know they get a 20k bonus but somebody told me that I wont get it if I go to college frist. my ?'s are.

1. How long do I have to sign up to get the 20k with this Mos(MP)?

2.Is it true that if I go to college frist, I wont get a 20k bonus for my Mos even If the Military can still pull me out of college if they need me?

3. And does the Army National guard get the New ACU?

Here's a suggestion - why don't you enlist under another MOS? Then when you're done with college or whatever, you can see if you need to take the ASVAB over to become an 31B. Also if you enlist in ROTC at an university or college, you will be considered a full time student and can serve in the STP. And if I believe correctly, you cannot be pulled out, depending on your MOS and whether or not your unit absolutely needs you. Correct me if I'm wrong, recruiters?

The ARNG does have the new ACU. The units here received them in September 2005, because they were shipped out then. My brother whose active duty Army received his in November (as an 88M, he had to drive and pick them up for the company).

Now, 60 college credits ... I can take up to 30 a semester at my local community college. If you enlist with the Guard, they can pay 100% of your tutition (grant it, if it doesn't go over a certain amount).

You can go full-time ARNG, meaning that's where you go to work, day in and day out. I heard it's harder to get that, but I don't think it's impossible. But don't count the Guard out because you don't have money for college and "you might get deployed somewhere" ... something tells me ... a college degree isn't going to stop IEDs, VEDs or the enemy from trying to ambush you.

Thank you for the info. And O yea Im not going to cut out the Guard because I might get deployed or something, I just dont want to be in school and get pulled out befor I get what I need to become A New York City Cop. If I can get a full-time job with the Army National guard then that would be good for me, If not I will have to go to school full-time to make up for what I dont have.
