Is there any way that I can move up one or so ranks before I ship to basics?? I only ask because of pay wise...ya know? any info would be great..

At Drill, they offer an advance in rank if you can do the 2mile run, push ups and sit ups...You need to do the 2 mile in 15 minutes, the others I dont know the amount.....and its only really for going from E1 to E2

This option promotes you. As said above, you need to pass with a score of 60 or above in the two minute push/sit-ups and the two mile run. It also involves knowing your enlistment/officer ranks, military alphabet, your three orders, some navigation things, mainly map reading, some marching skills and formation skills. I found a complete list by typing into my address bar 'stripes for skills national guard' it brought up a few links and I just clicked on a few until I got the complete list. Maybe I can find it again...

It also includes some first aide knowledge. All these skills are taught to you at RSP drill. Some studying on your own time could be helpful too.
