I am going to basic jun7 at ft.benning georgia and im 17. Infantry. I berely ran the mile under 8:30 ( i did 8:17) it was the hardest thing ive ever done but i did it. and i need to lose some weight fast because i feel im going to suffer a lot at basic. i almost fainted after i ran the mile at drills. And i saw hydroxy cut on a sgt's desk. as well as that people were talking about it and a lot of guys use it, its safe and popular among the military apparently. Any thoughts on this? and how i can make it as effective as possible? http://www.hydroxycut.com/

I personally do not care for using any pills. Try watching what you eat and exercise on a regular basis. Try this first if this is not working out for you then resort to something else on top of the training. I also know a lot of people in the military that use Hydroxicut. As far as I know it is safe, just do what you feel works best for you.

I do not recommend the use of Hydroxycut if you have not used any advanced supplements before. Besides the fact that as you stated, you need to lose weight and may be out of shape, some of these supplements (in particular Hydroxycut) require that you hydrate more than normal. Additionally, losing weight in itself is not going to get you in shape, regular exercise will. You can still carry some weight and be in better shape than someone who doesn't have an ounce of fat in their body but does not exercise at all. If you don't hydrate as you should normally do to start with and start using Hydroxycut, then you're asking for major health problems.
As stated before, a balanced diet and regularly scheduled exercise should do the trick.
