Jackson or Leonard Wood?

I've heard that we're not able to choose basic training location, but I was wondering if certain aspects determine which fort we're shipped to. Like, I'm going to enlist in North Carolina, probably as a Food Service Specialist. Will that have anything to do with where I take basic training?

Yes your MOS will play a roll in where you will go for AIT. As far as Basic training I think it only depends on the closest base located near your home state.

I hope so, because I want to go to Fort Jackson and it's closer to where I live.

I have a buddy that enlisted as a Food Service Specialist and she's at Ft. Leonard Wood right now.
