Delaying Basic Training Date?

I am scheduled to ship out for BCT on August 16th, but have recently ran into some significant family issues that require my attention for the next 6 months or so. Is it possible to have my BCT date pushed back or rescheduled? If so, how easy is this to do and what would the proper channels for this be?

Yes, it is possible to push your training date back; mine was delayed by a week due to problems with paperwork. Just talk to your recruiter and he/she might be able to help you with that issue more than anyone else. They can renegociate your shipping date, if necessary.
