I was wondering what type of diet is served to recruits during BCT? I cannot eat any seafood of any kind. I will get violently ill if that stuff is even put in front of my face! :( Is there a choice of food or do they just plop food on our plate and tell us to eat it?

I would like to bump this one to the top of the list of threads again. I am hoping it's ok to do this but I am wondering the same thing... Unless was there a reason this thread was not answered or just noone got to it? (trying to stay out of trouble that's all).
Thanks!

Allergies to common foods such as peanuts or shellfish are listed as a permanent disqualifier for enlistment in the National Guard.

guys its really simple here, if you dont like fish, dont get it in the food line ok? its like a cafeteria you go up say what you want and they put it on your plate, so bottom line dont ask for fish

OK, that's all I wanted to know. There is a choice. I was unaware that there was a food line with choices of food because I have never been in the military.

Make sure you take what VTGuard said into consideration. It might disqualify you for having certain allergies.

Well, I'm not allergic to any foods. I just despise the smell and taste of fish that badly. I'm not an *** about it though. If I need to shut my mouth and not say anything about the smell I can do that. I can also force it down if I have to. No allergies though.

If I am hungry then I don't care what it really is, I will eat it. I hope that since I am the tiny guy that they will make me eat a lot and put everything in front of me, because I WILL eat it all. I eat heaps of food all the time but still only weigh in barely at 115 pounds. :D

Lactose intolerance isn't techincally and allergy...but it can be a real hassle.
anyone know if it is considered a disqualifier?
Thanks.
