I am a 27 yr old single mom of 2 wonderful girls and I am thinking about joining the guard but I am scared about having to leave my kids for a long period of time. The longest I have ever been away from them is 4 days! Any suggestions or advice?

I am pretty much in the same boat. I just turned 32, I'm a single dad and I have 2 kids. I'm walking into the recruiter's office in about 3 months when I'm done studying for the ASVAB. The thing I keep telling myself is that my kids will be my motivation. This will be better for me and them in the long run. The education benefits plus the new level of discipline that I will achieve will have endless possibilities. I can't wait to go!!!! :D
