SGT Alyssa Vasquez - Path To Honor

Sergent (SGT) Alyssa Vasquez is currently a Team Leader with the 173rd Personnel Services Division. During her career with the National Guard, she has served as a human resources specialist, helping mobilize troops, and in the same capacity with the Recruiting and Retention Battalion. She has been to Primary Leadership Development Course, to become a Non Commissioned Officer (NCO), and Recruiting and Retention NCO School. SGT Vasquez has served as a National Guard recruiter for 3 1/2 years.

I have always wanted to be in the military; and as soon as I was old enough to join, I did! I chose the National Guard above all the other branches, because it would allow me to serve my country, and at the same time, allow me to serve myself by going to college and getting a degree. I think the National Guard has helped me grow as a person, and given me the foundation to build my life.
